All work has exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough good things about them, and I highly recommend them. I have not found a better auto repair shop in western mass.

Brought a 2006 Impreza in for new head gaskets - a common repair for the SOHC 2.5L Subarus. John's had a better price than anyone else in the Valley and uses improved MLS head gaskets so the repair will be permanent. The Subaru dealerships use OEM head gaskets, which will just fail again eventually. They machined the heads at a very reasonable cost and replaced a few failing pulleys with improved parts. Very satisfied!
Fantastic mechanic. Only works on foreign cars (subaru, toyota, ect.), but he does great work, at a more than fair price. He's honest, and won't overcharge you for a simple job.
I have had the following work done at John's Auto Repair since 2011 on my Subaru with 260,000 miles on it: replace my windshield, front brakes, rear brakes, rotors, calipers, replaced rusted sub-frame assembly that let my car live a little longer, timing belt, water pump, tires, exhaust, purge valves, axles, clean the oxidation off of the headlights, fluids, oil changes.
A little out of the way, but well worth the trip. Experienced, ethical and fair priced auto repair. They fixed issues that the dealer could not figure out, and corrected mistakes made by other repair shops.
